Garden To Table

For garden today we started weeding and then our teacher Mrs F picked out people who were doing the right thing. We went out to our sensory garden and planted some nice flowers for our school Greats and Grands day in term 4 2019. Then we went to our school orchard to plant 4 passion fruit. 

In the kitchen they cooked quiche and fritters. They made kebabs and coleslaw. We had a picnic on our school field. It was yummy. Here is a picture of the whole class eating

Science Fair

Yesterday was the school schools Science Fair. My Science investigation was about flight and forces 

Waitangi Digital Learning

On Tuesday the 3rd of September the year 4's went to Waitangi to do some digital learning using Scratch
and some unplugged activities. My favourite activity was Scratch because I got to code my sprite to move
up, down, left and right.

Koru Art

For two weeks we have been doing art with Whaea Rose about koru, bird and clouds with ink.

We made our koru art using foam, cardboard and paper and a pen.

My koru represents my ancestors. 

I really like that I have a bird and people in my art that make it look real.

Balloon Hovercraft How does a hovercraft hover? I predict that it would work Cd water bottle cap hot glue balloon Step 1:using  the hot glue gun glue the bottle cap to the CD hole.

Step 2: blow up the balloon when it is fully inflated. 

Step 3: twisted the balloon bottom so no air can come out stretch the balloon bottom over the bottle lid 

Step 4: open the bottle lid and place the CD on a table.

Step 5: untwist the balloon and let go

When I saw  It It worked!! The air from the balloon creates a cushion of moving air between the disc and the CD and reduces friction across the surface

This week we used popcorn to learn about volume and capacity.

For the last two weeks we have been working on writing speeches. 

My topic was why fortnite should be banned

We had to present them in front of our class. 

I think that it was awesome!

Here is my speech.

I believe that fortnite should be banned. Fortnite is a video game that has inappropriate stuff like guns, grenades, shooting and bullying. It is a game played online by people of all ages. I think it’s a horrible game and should be banned. Here are my reasons why.

Firstly, kids ask parents for money so they can buy V-Bux. V-bux is the money in the game, which gamers want so that they can purchase things in the game. It is upsetting for parents when their kids ask for money because they often do not have extra money to spend on the v bux. 

Secondly, Fortnite can make people get highly emotional.  Sometimes, people get angry and start to rage. Rage is when another gamer sneaks up on another player and eliminates them.  When they get eliminated, the player can jump out of their seats and say bad words. They could even break stuff that is important.  Now that is never ok!

Finally, some children get so addicted to the game that they hide in places and don’t go to school. A lot of people hide in different places in their house to play Fortnite and do not go to school to learn.  Come on people get out of your room and learn! 

Conclusion

Fortnite can cause players to get angry, miss school and bug their parents for money. Come on people you need to get your lazy butt out of that room and learn. That is why I think fortnite should be banned. By me. :3
