Art Week 5

We have been learning about using apps on our Chromebook to create images that look like mosaics or stained glass windows. We used Google Draw to make some and some people also used Sumopaint. Here is the image I made using Google Draw. I chose Pikachu, a group of crabs and George from Peppa pig because I wanted to have random aesthetics.

Here is my work.

Frank stella Art

We have been learning about abstract art. It’s all about creating works of art that don’t actually look like anything. We focused on the American artist Frank Stella, who liked to make pictures using shapes like circles, triangles and rectangles.

Here is my work:

Whare Tapa Wha

 Kia ora

Last week as part of our Whare Tapa Wha learning we sketched important people in our families. We then used water colours to paint our pictures.

What I like about my art is how I  took my time to carefully water paint the inside of my picture and on the outside.

Next time I think I should do is to add a better looking background and colour.

Thank you for looking at my blog I hope you have a good day or night.

Koru Art

For two weeks we have been doing art with Whaea Rose about koru, bird and clouds with ink.
We made our koru art using foam, cardboard and paper and a pen.

My koru represents my ancestors.

I really like that I have a bird and people in my art that make it look real.

Here is my Art.

Self Portrait

We have been learning how to sketch our facial features. We needed to put them in the right place on our face. For our background we typed our full name and learned to copy and paste down the page.
I like my body.
I need to work on my eyes and mouth.

Hector’s World Cybersmart

We have been watching Hector's World to learn how to be safe online. Never show your personal details to anyone you do not know. You can trust people at the bank. If you are doing something important and something pops up tell a teacher or an adult.

Art

This term we have completed two pieces of art.

One was inspired by an artist named Kadinsky who used coloured circles in his work. We looked at the contrast between warm and cool colours and the black and white of the buildings.

Our second piece was using the Maori words we have learnt and using these to create a visual picture. The words become the shape of the picture.

Some things I did well was on the background and making the circles.
I could improve on are spelling of the Maori words correctly.

Kauri tree art

1.  What I did to make this tree is grab a tall piece of paper. Grab a white crayon and blue dye. Paint a background on the paper with the dye. But first you need to make clouds with the crayon then let it dry.
2.  Second grab a blank paper then paint it green, brown and yellow. Then let it dry.
3.  You paint the trunk with your finger - black, white, brown, green.
4. Glue the trunk on to the blue paper
5. Then with the green brown yellow paper rip it into small leaves.
6. Then you put the ripped paper on the  top of the trunk.
7. For the ground layer you can use green yellow brown and paint with your finger.
8. Then you write about how to save kauri trees.
9. Then you will be done

art

We have been working on using different art techniques to draw our faces. We have used sketching pencils to sketch our faces, making sure we made our facial features an accurate shape, size and putting them in the correct places.

We learnt about Picasso’s style and made our own funky Picasso portraits.
